1. Use real straws or sticks to work on this problem.

2. Squares can be made in different orientations. Think how these four short and long sticks can form squares.

Senior

1. Draw different rectangles having perimeter 20 units and find area for all those rectangles. Find which rectangle dimensions gives maximum area.

2. Try the above step for rectangles having perimeter 22, 24 and any even perimeter.

3. Observe the rectangle dimensions which gives maximum area in each case. Do you find any pattern?
